Dark type combinations

Examples of type combination songs with dark as their primary type

Dark fire

No examples to show here, although I have heard some in the past. They sound primarily melancholy and with a theme of fire or hate. Quite a specialised combination.

Dark (pure)

These songs capture the full essence of the dark type. Already described in the introduction, but there are a couple more examples here.

Legion (VNV Nation).

Further (VNV Nation).

Dark fighting

This is a hidden gem. It contains sort of melancholy tracks about fighting in some way. Though many dark war films actually avoid this combination (in preference for other dark combinations, to emphasise the sadness), so this is left relatively unused and rare. Examples of this combination would be these:-

Bankrobber (The Clash).

March to Doom (Frank Klepacki).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifLhOMK6n7g

Another hidden gem. This combination has a lot of potential. Some examples:-

Why? (Enigma).

The Dark Empire (009 Sound System).

Dark ceramic

Usually suits death and defeat. Full songs with this combination appear to be censored, leaving only some remnants and instrumentals, but you can get the picture...

YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSdw8kYxnks

Dark space

An extraordinary but combination but it is almost never used because most attempts will fail. Also, don't get mixed up between dark space and space dark. Often the subjects can be mixed, so it is more difficult to distinguish, but the distinction is that dark space is the one where the melancholy aspect is promoted first. Good examples:-

Edge of Night (Billy Boyd).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY9dQ8hUi7U

Carbon (VNV Nation).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1socY_ptN4

I used to hate this combination, since it is meant to be sad songs with a poison message. But I discovered some tracks that fit in nicely and aren't that bad:-
