Ice type combinations

Examples of type combination songs with ice as their primary type

Ice fire

This combination is quite unusual, as you might imagine, but there are songs which suit it. Examples:-

Flames of Love (Fancy)

Oblivion (Alton Towers).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWrGX3YpkhU

Ice dark

A very atmospheric combination, usually made to suit cold and dark environments. Examples:-

Cloaked in Blackness (343 Industries).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI3dEz03Tuo

What Lurks (Frank Klepacki).

Ice Path / Dark Cave (TPCi).

Version 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rPcKPTiqx8

Under Cover of Night (Bungie).

Ice fighting

This combination is very rare indeed. I just have one possible example:-

Parade of (the) Wooden Soldiers (The Crystals).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCvf5UABApg

Ice earth

A really good combination, but I just have one example again:-

1963 (New Order).
1987 version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoA8HYaB408
1994 version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KezOq9Fj-7U

Ice electric

A rare atmospheric combination again. Example:-

Ground Wire (Frank Klepacki).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE49A3-uRLE

Ice ceramic

Although there are many Christmas songs done in the ceramic style, they usually fall into the ceramic ice combination. Ice ceramic, on the other hand, is extremely rare and difficult to pull off, but it was done successfully in this rendition:-

Little Drummer Boy (Boney M).

Ice oil

What's with primary ice types usually being very rare even though they are really good? Well, this combination is too, and there is only one example I know of ice oil:-

Coming to the Rescue (O-Town).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPfYD3B59t0

Ice bug

Another very rare one. Fortunately, there is an example, although it is a parody song:-

Christmas at Ground Zero ('Weird Al' Yanbkovic).

Ice grass

Although it sounds like songs that suit Christmas trees would be in this category, they tend not to be. Instead, it is another rare combination. Best to listen to the examples to know what I mean:-

Jingle Bells (A Cowboy's Holiday) (Bellamy Brothers).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVfP9MDZExk

Wizards in Winter (Trans-Siberian Orchestra).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWBjl-jPcVM

Ice poly

Most ice type combinations don't vary much, so this is yet another very rare combination. The only example I know of is this:-

Challenge (Skids).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht9TWA-v0yM

Heat Sink (Jerry Berlongieri).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmHjHeZJzPE

Ice rock

Another surprisingly very rare combination, despite the rock type. Examples:-

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (The Ronettes).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGQUuyrVBoA

Blood and Soil (Skids).
Link not available.

Ice glass

Another extremely rare and unused combination. This would be for ones like this:-

Ring Rink (from 'Ristar').

Ice Scream (from 'Ristar').

Ice (pure)

This was described in the introduction, but more examples are included here.

Lady of Ice (Fancy).

Winter Wonderland (Annie Lennox).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6wuFLDkVQg

Escape Through the Snow (TPCi).
Version 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mogfdpv-C-8
Version 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxJTVTQ_vIc

Snowy Outside (Jerry Berlongieri).

Ice steel

Another very rare one. One example I know of:-

Untitled (Mark Morgan).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EBc2le_byg
Extended version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQhKsCGne3A

Ice air

A truly awe inspiring combination. However, I only have one example just now:-

Skylarking (BT).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCK_yrvKaz4&t=7

Ice space

There is a lot of ice in space, since it is the most common molecule composed of more than one element. However, there is only one possible example I have here, and that is questionable whether it should be here or in 'space ice'. Here it is:-

Dense (Frank Klepacki).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQ7p-RTe3yY

Ice water

I thought this combination would be a bit more common, like icebergs, but, again, I only have one example:-

Bog (Frank Klepacki).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pz7CmeUkgxs

Ice dragon

A really good combination. Examples:-

The Cossacks (Red Army Choir).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ou9GMaUYOw

Cossack's Song (Red army Choir).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26cr_rBQu74

Ice ghost

Another very rare one. Example:-

Smell of Desire (Enigma).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ng8FCTi-Iw&t=8

Ice poison

Yet another rare one with only one example:-

Backstab (Frank Klepacki).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN9LPqqK0bA

Ice normal

Although this is a good Christmas combination, it is still rare because most Christmas songs are in other combinations. This currently seems to only contain most covers of the song 'Jingle Bells' and nothing else, which is rather odd, but I'm sure there are others out there.

Jingle Bells (Jim Reeves).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F069W-A-5EA

Another cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PgNPc-iFW8
Another cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CWJNqyub3o
Another cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ8U6TEO-qE

Ice fairy

Another very exclusive combination, despite often being associated with Christmas. The example here are also quite different-sounding although they are both ice fairy ones:-

Fairytale of New York (The Pogues).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9jbdgZidu8

Sleigh Ride Winter Wonderland (Dolly Parton).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F7jbFUgrbE

Ice psychic

Yet another one so rare that I just have one example of at the moment, but it is quite a famous track:-

Walking Away (Tocadisco Remix) (The Egg).
YouTube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5i5Y0cRDWg

Ice light

Again just one example I know of:-

White Acropolis - Snowy Peak (Mariko Nanba).
